Food chains
Food chains examine the relationships of the autotrophic (producers) and heterotrophic (consumers) within an ecosystem.
In the food chains listed above, the relationships between the flora and fauna of the ecosystem can be clearly noted. These food chains show the many trophic levels within the mangrove ecosystem and how energy is passed through the biological community. For example the autotrophic feeders in this ecosystem such as the grey mangrove provide a food source for the succeeding heterotrophic feeders such as gastropods.
