MAngrove locations
The biomass of mangrove ecosystems are commonly located between 25 degrees north and 25 degrees south. Mangroves thrive on shorelines of many countries and constitute 75% of coastal vegetation. These ecosystems are predominately located in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Mangrove ecosystems are found in areas that have not been majorly effected by humans, worldwide these mangrove ecosystems cover and approximate area of 240,000 square km of coastlines.
Where are the Home Bush mangroves?
The mangroves studied in this report are located in Bicentennial park at Home Bush (8 Australia Ave, Sydney Olympic Park NSW 2127). Bicentennial park is a diverse nature park which rejuvenated the Home Bush bay mangroves as the surrounding area had become an industrial dumping site. The site where the Home Bush mangroves are located is now described as an "attractive urban oasis", which now entices many locals for leisure activities such as walking, picnics, bike riding and fitness regimes. Home bush bay is located 12 kilometres away from Sydney of the southern side of Parramatta river.
